New Gymnastic Coach Named
Jason Butts has been named West Virginia University’s gymnastics coach. Athletic director Oliver Luck announced Butts’ appointment on Tuesday.
Butts, an Athens native, received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from UGA in the fall of 2006, and has spent the last five seasons as an assistant and associate head coach under Linda Burdette-Good, who retired after 37 years.
Butts trained males and females from 2001-06 at Classic City Gymnastics in Athens before becoming an assistant at West Virginia, where he was a two-time (2009, 2010) Southeast Regional Assistant Coach of the year.
